Tourists seem to know more about fu and different events going on in Boston, rather than the people that actually live here.
There is SO much to do in the summer in Boston, but as locals, we often forget to check websites or calendars for fun different events.
Here are some events for the rest of August this summer Boston that you should definitely try and go to:

Boston Seafood Festival
- offers live music, an oyster shucking contest, cooking demonstrations, a kids’ area to play, arts & crafts with a nautical theme, and small plates of seafood for sale on the Boston Fish Pier. This happens August 7th, so mark the date if you want great New England Seafood.

Love’s Labour’s Lost
- is a high-energy romantic comedy filled with spirited wordplay, strong comical characters, and unexpected twists right on the Boston Common. Basically free, in the park Shakespeare. Pack a picnic and lay out watching a classic play.

Boston Comic Con
- brings together comic movie and book creators creators, quirky vendors, celebrity guests, a film festival, and gaming tournaments to the Seaport World Trade Center. Channel your inner-nerd and stop by, you’ll definitely see some characters.

Picnic in the Park
- takes place AT FENWAY PARK and includes an autograph session with Red Sox players, a delicious BBQ dinner on Fenway’s famous outfield, and tons of entertainment. If you can’t make a Red Sox game during August, this is a great second choice.

Brew at the Zoo
- is a beer tasting in the midst of tons of exotic animals. It is a fundraiser featuring beer from dozens of breweries, local restaurant food, live music, and a chance to explore Franklin Park Zoo. Only for age 21+.

Thirsty Thursday Sail
- is a sailing and drinking event on the Courthouse Dock for a two-hour evening sail aboard the historic Roseway. You can enjoy local beer, wine, and more if you are 21+. Truly a Bostonian summer event.

St. Anthony’s Feast
- takes place right in the North End and is an Italian street festival with food a multitude of authentic vendors, a live music stage, religious ceremonies, processions, and more on Endicott St. No one can resist the North End’s great food!
These are just a FEW of the awesome events Boston puts on in the summertime. There are plenty more food festivals, concerts, plays, etc in and around Boston to definitely check out if these ones didn’t catch your eye.
